ISRAEL: A JOURNEY TO THE HOLY LAND
10 Days March 16 – 25, 2010
OPTIONAL 5-DAY JORDAN EXTENSION
Escorted by Peggy & Dennis Crull
Dear Friend,
The year 2010 marks our 35th year in business. During that time, it has been our privilege and pleasure to lead travelers to the far corners of our amazing world. As part of our planning for this milestone year, Dennis and I have decided to lead a tour to a place that is home to some of the most ancient sites on earth – where it all began.
Israel.
We begin with our overnight British Airways flight to Tel Aviv, Israel. Our tour will take us to the ancient port city of Jaffa with its famous artists quarter. We’ll visit Haifa and its Baha’i Shrine and Gardens. From Tiberias, we’ll visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes.
Crossing the River Jordan, we’ll visit the Golan Heights. We’ll take
an evening boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. And, we’ll have dinner at
a communal settlement known as a Kibbutz.
Dozens more historic sites follow including Cana where Jesus turned water into wine…the Dead Sea…the walled fortress of Masada…the caves at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered…the Church of the Nativity at Bethlehem, birthplace of Jesus and the first church ever built.
We’ll spend our last four nights in Jerusalem where we’ll have a fantastic tour of the Holy City. Walking through the four quarters that make up the Old City, we’ll learn of the great symbolic importance it holds for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
While the sites we’ll visit are of great historical significance, it is the
Israeli people and their inspiring story that will make our tour complete.
Come with us to hear stories of their past, see them going about their
daily lives, and learn of their hopes and dreams for the future.
This is a great tour made better by Collette Vacations, a company with a rich 91-year history and one of our most trusted partners in travel for the past decade and a half. OPTIONAL JORDAN EXTENSION
Being in Israel presents an opportunity to add another amazing destination to your trip – Jordan, including the remarkable stone-carved city of Petra. For this 5-day/4-night extension, we’ll drive across the border into Jordan and travel along the Desert Highway to Petra. This treasure of the ancient world was not discovered until 1812 after having been “lost” behind rugged mountains for more than 300 years.
During our time in Jordan, we’ll stay in wonderful hotels and see a number of the country’s other treasures in addition to Petra. See the enclosed itinerary for details. Our Jordan extension is priced at just $1,199 per person, double occupancy and is a “can’t miss” addition to you Israel tour.
PLEASE NOTE: We intend to limit this tour to the comfortable capacity
of one touring coach – approximately 40 participants. If Israel is high
on your travel wish list, we urge you to CALL to hold your place.
We invite you to join us for Israel: A Journey to the Holy Land. For additional information or to reserve your place, call 1.800.383.3131
Warm Regards,
Peggy R. Crull
President
P.S. March is the perfect time of year to visit Israel and Jordan. Afternoon highs in the 60’s will be the perfect prelude to springtime back home, and we’ll avoid the intense heat that comes to this region in the summer months.
