Welcome to AFFORDABLE SCANDINAVIA! For your Spring 2008 vacation, we invite you to witness the incomparable beauty of this magical part of Europe.
Your 11-day Scandinavia holiday begins on May 8, 2008, as you jet transatlantic to the “Venice of the North” – Stockholm. Stockholm is made up of 14 rocky islands connected by more than 50 bridges. Your half-day panoramic tour of the city includes time for you browse the narrow, cobblestone streets of Old Town. If you enjoy shopping, you’ll be happy to know that Stockholm is ranked as one of the top shopping destinations in Europe. And, if you prefer to see more of the city, the optional Royal Canal Tour gives you another perspective of Stockholm.
From Stockholm, you’ll continue on to Oslo, the capital city of Norway. Your sightseeing tour of Oslo will include famous Vigeland Sculpture Park.
After your overnight in Oslo, enjoy your scenic full day motorcoach transfer to Bergen. In Bergen, you have free time to explore on your own or participate in a city sightseeing tour which includes Edvard Grieg’s former home.
From Bergen, you will continue to the “Norway in a Nutshell” excursion. Your highlights will include a cruise on the Sognefjord and the Flam Railway Excursion. Be sure to enjoy the scenery from your overnight hotel situated on the shores of the Hardanger Fjord.
Following your relaxing evening on the Hardanger Fjord, it’s time to return to Oslo to board your DFDS Seaways cruise ship. Enjoy your relaxing overnight cruise to Copenhagen and be sure to view the beautiful sunset from the comfort of your deck chair!
Upon arrival in – as the song goes – “Wonderful, Wonderful, Copenhagen,” you’ll see why Copenhagen is so wonderful indeed. From the famous statue of the Little Mermaid to the lovely mix of waterways and canals, to regal buildings, gardens, and fairytale castles, this is a city you’re an quickly fall in love with.
You’ll have a free morning to explore Copenhagen on your own, or join an optional tour to see Rosenborg and Chrstianborg Castles.
