JOIN US as jet to Tucson, Arizona, from where we will explore a hidden part of Mexico filled with beauty and unique cultures and traditions.

On this tour, we will travel by coach through the beautiful Sonora Desert to the town of San Carlos, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez. Our hotel overlooks picturesque San Carlos Marina. During our 2-night stay in San Carlos, we’ll visit a working pearl farm and learn the history of Sea of Cortez pearls. You’ll have free time to explore and shop, or take part in an optional fishing trip, siesta cruise, or Hummer excursion to a Tarahumara Indian village inaccessible by ordinary vehicles.

From San Carlos, we drive to the beautiful colonial city of El Fuerte. From the moment we arrive there, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. Sitting gracefully in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains, we’ll be treated to a folkloric show in this town founded by Spaniards in 1564.

At El Fuerte, we’ll board the Chihuahua – Pacifico Railroad for an awe-inspiring journey that will take us from sea level to almost 8,000 feet through numerous tunnels and over countless bridges. This train ride, which many consider to be among the most spectacular in the world, is sure to be a highlight of the tour. Our train route takes us through the most scenic portions of majestic Copper Canyon – even more massive than our Grand Canyon – winding past thrilling gorges and expansive canyonlands.

Following our amazing train ride, yet another spectacular sight awaits – the view from your room at our next hotel, which rests right on the canyon rim. During our 2-night stay, we’ll delve into the fascinating Tarahumara culture as tribal members perform traditional dance, engage in tribal games and put on a foot race demonstration. We’ll tour the area called Divisadero, marvel at canyon views from different areas, and enjoy some free time to explore on our own.

Leaving the canyon rim, we travel through Copper Canyon to the town of Creel, situated 7,874 feet above sea level. At a Mennonite settlement near Cuahtemoc, we’ll be guests for a homemade lunch before continuing on to Chihuahua. There, we’ll visit an orphanage supported by the Collette Foundation and learn of the work being done there to help these children. During our Chihuahua city tour, we’ll visit the home of the famous Mexican Revolutionary leader Pancho Villa, the state capitol building, and other highlights.

Traveling north from Chihuahua, we cross the border back into the USA for the last night of our tour, at El Paso, Texas where we’ll gather together for our farewell dinner.
